Jamaica ranks #3 as the World’s Happiest Nation
According to the Happy Planet Index Jamaica ranks #3 for the world’s happiest nation for 2009. At Tensing Pen we like to keep our staff as happy as they keep our guests! This year for a special treat we took our staff to Glistening Waters on the north coast, near Falmouth, on two separate evenings so that everyone got the chance to experience Mother Nature showing off. As you can see from the photos, our staff contributes to this happy nation.
What’s New?
As it turns out Sugar, our ridgeback seems to have been faking her pregnancy. Better luck next time Sugar!
Each and every Tuesday evening a short walk down the road will take you to Negril Escape and their new One Love conscious reggae show. A lovely evening starting (on time) at 8pm and ending at the convenient hour of midnight.
What’s Just the Same?
You can find unique island creations at our gift shop.
Niney is still our oldest employee and gardener exceptional.
The green flash still happens at sunset and in December we had super green flashes three evenings in a row! How many have you seen?

Is the “Green Light” like the Northern Lights we see Here in Wisconsin USA or Canada? We are thinking on going in Sept or Oct (Hurricane season?) What is the temperature like that time of year?

The Green flash occurs occassionally just as the Sun dips below the horizon at sunset. It is different from the Northern Lights. It is similar to the flash of a camera except that the colour of the light is green. It happens in a split second and is unpredictable.
We look forward to welcoming you in October. We are closed for refurbishing during the first two weeks in September. The average temperature in October ranges from 85 to 92 degrees fahrenheit.
